Yarpus, nigga you drunk.

That's weird. When Khaos and the pack drop the bombs on this guy I've actually stopped myself from insulting him in the clearest way. It feels... unusual.
Kamahl composed the Red deck he'd like to beat. Sadly, nobody is playing it. He lives in his own reality - I guess one should just leave him there.
Still, hey, his Dega kinda' became a deck. Built in a bit different way and with much better thought process behind the cards, but it kinda' did.
It's not like anyone here ever achieved that at least for once *looks at Zem*
If that will help ease the pain you got from reading my post: during whole time I was writing it, all I was thinking about was: "just tell him he's a smelly big cunt and it'll do the job as well".

More...glazed over it with a quick TCG Player top deck search. What happened to the old days when a "works cited" was posted at the end of article for us to know that the writer did any research beyond naval gazing.The article isn't the worst thing I've seen published by a margin, though.
But the RDW section still makes me sad.

The lulz of the last few pages. Bravo.
Well done to all the promoted, in particular the tier 3 guys (and girl!). That position recognises your continued work across a range of areas, primarily in:
- the FOS community;
- strategic content;
- growth as a player; and
- not pissing me off.
That final one isn't an easy obstacle.
I want to make a special mention to JS and Helios; two players I've had the fortune to work with over the last year and have seen them grow tremendously as players:
- JS went from 0.500 FNM player to regular FNM champ, in JAPAN. Tough environment and he is killing it; and
- Helios showed remarkable improvement I'm just a year between efforts at states. Hopefully his schedule will allow him to be more active this year than last.
To everyone else, a story, about what really matters in magic. It was 2010 and I was playing Boros Landfall in the final round of Nationals. I needed a win to
lock up a top 16. My opponent was playing Caw Blade with all the tricks. I'd actually played this guy before, splitting games with him at other events (a PTQ and 2009 Melbourne Masters); suffice it to say we'd had words. Truth be told I've had words with a lot of my opponents in the past; I'm just that sort of guy.
Anyway, Game 2 is pretty close, but I stumble on land (in my 26 land aggro deck) and can't get my 4th to Koth him when he wraths. Eventually he gets in with a Sword of War and Peace and that's that.
Game 2 I have Guide into Geopede into Koth. He dies when Koth ultimates.
At this point, my disgruntled opponent starts to give me the "red aggro decks are a joke talk". At Nationals. Because if you're going to jimmie rustle, may as well go big right? Now I was in no mood to lecture the guy, so I just shuffled up and drew my 7.
1 land? Do I really want to keep a 1 lander?
Mulligan.
No land? Fuck this
2 land, 3
goblin guides? Keep.
My draws were Koth, land, land, burst lightning. It wasnt even close.
Better lucky than good right?

@ Ham. Protip vs Maze's End. Past a certain point of board pressure (probably 3 guys) you want to plus her instead of drawing a card;
- there is no benefit to adding to the board if they have a bunch of fogs in hand;
- it makes their wraths and riot control worse; and
- your ultimate is a real threat to them.

This guy wasn't playing fog, he was on the guildgate elf + infinite removal package, which was very unusual. My Chandras met a Hero's Downfall and a bunch of Angered Gods pooped on my d00dz.@ Ham. I ended up doing the guy 42 damage in game 1 before he clutched out a Devour Flesh on his own dude to seal the win.

Well that's lame
I think ill be playing UB Control for a bit; the anti-red hate on MODO is absurd in the 2-mans (but not the DEs because you have to play real decks in those). People playing maindeck Pharika's Cure? Get fucked.

Basically played half my matches against BW control which I'm like 40% against. Best everything else, including Cuneo on UW control. Good guy, great games.

I've had that card cast against me so many times, but it seems loose as shit after a spicy meal. It's only marginally better than PtP.Well that's lame

Zem:
- 4 maindeck Thoughtseizes might be a bit suicidal against meta infested with Aggro. Consider reducing the count by switching them into SB.
- Psychic Strike might be easier to cast than Dissolve. Of course test the deck, but in case of you having issues with finding 1UU right at the time, consider it.
- Essence Scatter could be still relevant maindeck card. Counter gods, Fanatic of Mogis and Blood Baron of Vizkopa. You might have issues with those with that low counterspell count.
- Not sure if you should ever bother yourself with some additional technology against Control mirrors: but Notion Thief and Ashiok both steal the show.
- Not sure why you're playing Nightveil Curse. Could you explain the card?
- In aggro-infested Meta, Dimir Charm might be your catch-all card. It's flexxible as removal against aggro/library manipulation and occasional counterspell for some random flashy spells (people play Blood /
/ Flesh these days, y'know). Didn't actually played with Warped Physique (I understand it's here as decent removal card that hits gods where it hurts them). Dimir Charm is actually a response to Rakdos Cacklers and Shred-Freaks.

- lifeloss cards, you're right, probably. I think the MODO meta is 40% aggro, 35% midrange, 25% control; so the thoughtseizes are more often better than not. Still, it may be too much. I'd lean towards Pilfered Plans over Read the Bones though I think, to cut down on lifeloss.
- psychic strike is definitely easier, but I'm not on a mill plan, so scry 1 is more valuable than mill 2, by a lot. With 17 blue sources, ill almost always have UU on 3 and I have 4 syncopate as well.
- I do like essence scatter a lot. I have another seven counterspells though, with 10 removals; cards like fanatic of Mogis or Blood Baron won't be why I lose games, they're very bad against my deck.
- spicy tech is nice. Ill need to see how one sided the matchups are already; I think I'm already a huge favourite in control mirrors, but I might want more.
- spectre is really good against mono blue and Rx. I want the flying body.

We don't really hold grudges:
My first real experiences with LP and Helios were them threatening to report me, midnightV spent a good bit of time telling me what an asshole I am, and I'm pretty sure JS and I didn't really get along too well. Also, I'm pretty sure the first thing I ever said to Fate was something like "join if you want, but if not then quit your bitching and gtfo."
And Yarpus, the reason you got kicked back to Tier 2 is because you were MIA for like a fucking year. Promotions aren't my call, but I don't see why you wouldn't get promoted again soon since you're clearly a pillar of the community.

Zem:
I had this silly idea which involves all of these mill cards that are normal cards but mill things btw.
Play this package:
4 Piltfered Plans
4 Psychic Strike
1 Mind Grind
1 Jace, Memory Adept
And you have pretty damn strong mill theme in the deck. You still have usual beating in form of Aetherling - but you actually have the support plan for decks that somehow hate out Hatereling. Playing Psychic Strike and Piltfered Plans over cards you already play doesn't cost you much, as it's Scry without the lifeloss from Bones and without possibility of not hitting that double U (and it's actually still possible in your manabase, at least at T3).
Singleton Mind Grind doesn't hurt you much. It's a card that resolved might either kill your opponent or mill enough of his cards to make his deck really unsynergistic. Current decks have themes. Mill all the Gods/Masters from Mono Blue? They end up as pretty damn awfull
Flies deck. Mill the shit out of any deck and all what's left is bunch of techy awkward cards.
Also:
- Ashiok costs bunch of bucks. Notion Thief is no-dollar rare. And NT ruins Sphinx's Revelation decks as even while they are leaving their mana open, it's usually for Negate or Dispel or Swag Song. They'll never see it coming - and 3/1 beater at instant-speed is fine. Hey, you don't need to hit their SR. Screw their Divination and they shit all over the place.
- Shipwreck Siren WRECKS Mono Blue. They attack, you block Nightveil then tap her for her ability. Kill all the tokens and shitty 2/1 Vaporkins, block Nightveil. It's also "allright" against aggro. (sorry, forgot she's 1/2. As 2/2 she'd be sick - now she's still cool as fuck). AND IT COUNTERS FUCKING ASSEMBLE YO.
- Consider Soul Ransom. Card seems to be terrible, but people are all over Domestication. SR could be a real deal against Midrange. As 4 cards difference is like... big one.
- There's this black land enchantment that
turns it into mountain and shocks opponent for every time he taps it. That's your new, better Burning Earth that also turns off Nykthos/Mutavault.
