Hey all, not dead, just hella busy getting two apps ready for store submission. Oh and there are another possible gaggle of clients waiting in the wings if these do well....

Anyone want to give me a quick summary of what I missed from page 471 (jesus almost 500pages?!), seems like someone entered the shit house and a bunch of other crap happened.

Haven't been able to play nearly as much as I've wanted to these past couple weeks giving me a very sad Theros record of 6-9-2 /sadpanda Might need to get off of PyroRed due to simply not having enough time to test and really learn the deck, course my gut feeling is that even playing it and losing will make me a better player since it needs very good technical play and Im currently doing ass at counting anymore than 2 turns ahead. Get better via getting beat :P

I am usually 2-3 turns ahead, but I'm winning games on t5 regularly, so that's about half the game. I like the shorter lines of aggressive decks. Devo red is easier to learn than pyrored, and is faster.
It squeezes under more decks at the cost of having a weaker long game.

I love how when a deck becomes popular, all the idiots come out the woodwork and make bad adjustments and try the justify the changes that it's "good".

"Hey guys, instead of [card]Mogis's Marauder[/card] in Mono Black Aggro, I want to add a full set of Dark Prophecy because it's good against other aggro decks for devotion because it's THREE devotion for Gary! I'll also run three Underworld Connections for TONS of card advantage. You don't get it because it's a slow aggro deck that wins late games."

"Hey guys, Necropolis Regent should be a finisher in Mono Black Devotion! It's the best black creature card in the deck! The pros haven't figured it out yet, but I bet they will start soon! Imagine when it attacks with a full board!"

Holy fucking shit I hope I was never
this bad.

The key for me was learning that cards I like are usually bad. Timmy gets to come out at the kitchen table. I'm just trying to figure out if my aurelia+medomai deck i'm toying with is a timmy deck or a jonny deck, but it sure isn't a tourney deck.

Most people with a background in any other competitive game grasp magic very easily, the skill ceiling in the game is very low.

Evidence: Todd Anderson is a world class player and popular with the player base.

I rest my case.

That whole "needs of the many" speech sounds damn cool when Nimoy drops it in his dying moments, but in real life it sucks. Sorry to hear that, TH...bro hugs, man.

And thanks to all for the recovery wishes...I'm over that crap that body-slammed me and am taking the digestive disruption as an opportunity to get my eating back on a healthy track. The past few weeks of band chaos have led to way too many hedge meals and fast-food fallbacks. Time to cut that rope again and get back on a healthy path.

We are thinking surgery next tuesday.

It really depends on my meniscus tear.

If it is small enough, I'll be up on my feet a week after surgery. But if it is too big, I'll be off of it for 4-6 weeks.

Sorry to hear that, Tube. I'm hoping that your recovery is at least swift.

Thankfully, the ultrasound this afternoon revealed that the earlier concerns have cleared themselves away, so there's no c-section in our future.

There's a funny story as to why the mcrib is always an intermittent sandwich. The parts used to make a mcrib are dirt cheap, until the mcrib comes back, and mcdonalds is so big that the price shoots up when mcdonalds brings the sandwich back. They stop making it because it becomes more expensive and the price of the parts drops back down to pre-mcrib prices. When mcdonalds isn't buying that stuff gets sold for next to to nothing to the USDA who then makes roughly the same sandwich for the american school lunch program (that was one of the few school lunches I liked when I was a kid).
