So, the artist for (basically) everyone's favorite Mountain (as well as my second favorite Island art and Plains), Veronique Meignaud is a honest-to-gods natural redhead.

So what do you guys think of goblin wardriver in modern? I've been working on a modern RDW deck and I have been enjoying signal pest, which naturally led me to consider his big gobbo brother. He's obviously not knocking keldon marauders or hellspark out of their places, but I am running stormblood berserker, and I am thinking that I can squeeze a bit more efficacy out wardriver. Any thoughts?

I'm trying to decide if I should flip this playset of Goryo's Vengeance and my playset of Snapcasters for some fetchlands. Goodness knows as soon as I let go of Tiago I'll brew a deck that wants all of them.

Id flip the vengeances, and hold the snapcasters for now. Snapcaster will only bust in price upwards, so unless you need the fetchlands now, I would wait for the price explosion. Who knows, you might want to play something with Snapcaster in the meantime.

@ windstrider (land and deck theme)

Yes. Absolutely. You'd be surprised at some of the lands I favor for certain decks. And since my OCD reigns supreme in Magic, all my cards and lands MUST have the same art or else the 'Verse will implode on itself.
Good. I felt weird for doing that as well, and then said screw it. I love running mono-red with nothing but the full-art Zen Mountains. Looks so good in the black card sleeves.

Pu-lease...if you're weird them I'm a first-class art geek. I bought red-highlighted custom swamps done in a panoramic graveyard scene
for my Br Zombies deck. I also got my great-nephew Star Wars modded swamps and plains for his first deck (BW Tokens). Blinging out with cool art to personalize a deck may be of no meaningful benefit in game play, but self-expression gives one a sense of ownership.

And as to our ginger mountain artist...picking jaw up off floor, rolling tongue back in... :unibrow:

I'm attempting to write a Modern Storm Primer, but I'm at that point where I just want to say "fuck it, I'm not gonna finish it tonight." I think I'm gonna post what I got and then finish it later while reserving like 2-3 post/pages.

I'm seriously in love with the deck. More now that I ever was.

Which makes me think that I'm the kind of guy that tries to turn a hoe into a housewife.

Hoes don't act right. And neither do decks that have key components banned. But I don't wanna quit it.

Like Luke said to Obi-Wan regarding Vader, "There is Good in him!"
Looking forward to this. Was rocking storm pre bannings and attempted to pick it back up when finkel brought it back up.

IDK I think in Modern the format is littered with removal so unless the creature has immediate impact - I'd rather take another Burn.

Signal Pest is a mana cheaper, has evasion against most creatures but weak on his own because he cannot do damage by himself.

Wardriver is a mana more, lacks the creature evasion but can do damage on his own AND gets a benefit in REDgoblin tribal builds.

Overall I would stick with Signal Pest because in The 2 drop
spot you have other immediate threats.

That deck is hilarious. 1-of Ash Zealot. Bomber Corps. My goodness. To be fair he's clearly stated he's on a budget, and I bet it does feel good when he pulls a win out of nowhere against a strong player.

Thinking about pimping out my deck, but we have some cards going for 10+ (even 30+) which I'm 2nd guessing.

I can Justify Mutavault because I'll most likely put it in my RU Delver List in modern, Sacred Foundry is another Modern Staple I'm ok with - but the two cards which I'm unsure of are Boros Reckoner and Chandra, Pyromaster.

Do you think those two cards have staying power outside standard?

If Painted Stone continues to do well AND Chandra doesn't see a reprint (the thing I'd be most worried about), she'll hold value like a champ.

Boros Reckoner of course not, too slow and color intensive for modern.

Chandra, it already sees a little modern and legacy play. I don't know. (Im almost sure that she'll be in standard again, probably next season as core set walkers usually have a 2 yr period)

I'd be surprised if we didn't see pyromaster reprinted, core set walkers have all been reprinted, or are reprints from expert level sets (see sorin markov), so we will likely see the current garruk and chandra in m15, I would be willing to bet money on it (though I would like to see koth either get reprinted or a new phyrexian tainted version).

Stormblood Berserker hands down. 3/3 two drop with evasion is better than a 2/2 with no evasion. Battle cry is nice but a 1 drop that does the same with evasion beats it out.

Just shoot me in my damned fool head.

I got on MTGO right before band season and dropped $$ for all the staples I would need to build most aggro and mid options in Rx/Bx...I had already grabbed Chandra while she was low, so I was good to go.

Or so I thought.

I just got on and realized that I didn't order a set of Mutavault. So what happened in the past 2 weeks? It shot from $6 to over $20.

Fuck. My. Life.

Its a good time to be Red on MODO, assuming you have time to grind you should be able to cover the cost of your deck in a week or less.
