Try your hand at brewing your own. It's not that difficult of a process actually. It can be some amount of work and initial investment of money depending on how fancy you want your equipment to be. I prefer home brewed mead since the store stuff tends to be too dry for my tastes. Then again, I like sweeterActually, now that the topic of alcohol has been brought up, y'all might be able to help me.
I'm not 21 yet (next may!), and when I do turn 21, the drink I wanna try more than anything else is legit mead. Not mead-beer, but viking mead.
So the question to y'all of drinking age is where the bugger do I go to try and find some mead? Do normal bars even carry it, or would I have to pray it's in hiding in the corner of a bottle-store?
wines, which is not to everyone's taste.
If you're interested in trying wine, see if there are any wineries around you. Most of them offer free tastings, and it's a good way to find something that you'll like. Do not, however, get falling down drunk on wine. The hangovers can be brutal.
As an aside, does anyone else dislike vodka? I cannot stand vodka except when mixed in with other alcohols to mask the taste. Worst hangover I ever had was from drinking cranberry and vodka at a midnight showing on Halloween of Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There are a handful of bars here in Boston that specialize in Mead, and even more have it available but don't claim it as a specialty. I've never been a huge fan so don't know labels/brands, but if anybody is visiting Boston I could suggest a couple places for Mead.

Vodka is like water to me. I had a Russian friend in high school and we stole his parent's vodka all the time, so I'm fairly desensitized to it, even though I don't drink very much alcohol at all anymore.Try your hand at brewing your own. Scotch is more my thing, though. A nice 12 or 15
year single malt is a very tempting thing.

Vodka is for college party girls and alcoholics.
I typically avoid that shit the way I avoid the color green in magic. But I will admit to drinking a screwdriver every now and then.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Yeah, but if you're but chugging there isn't really a good reason to use anything but bottom shelf vodka, I really hope your anus is devoid of taste buds.Butt chugging is perfectly fine when done safelyhard mead is not something you can just jump ass-first into drinking

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.
You're like the least gay member of this clan.
And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

This is the worst topic we've ever discussed.

redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
Great guy to have around? Hell yes.
I love the D...

I'm a whiskey and beer man, though I can't say I've ever had super high quality brews of either yet, being in college and all.
Though I had a Dogfish Head beer once, that was great
Annnd totally avoiding the discussion of ass seasoning....
Calamity, Dogfish Head makes one of the most over-the-top beers in existence--120 Minute IPA. I SOOO wish we could buy it here, but no interstate beer trade between MO and DE, much to my sorrow. That beer is a creature unto itself...it's 15-20% ABV and is a total hop overload (not to mention an ungodly number of calories in a beverage). Sigh...

The best beer I have ever had, hands down, is Parabola by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. It is a barrel aged Russian imperial stout that's 13% abv. Whenever I have a really good beer, I will say, "Oh, this is one of the best beers I've ever tasted." Well, Parabola is THE best beer I've ever tasted. If I had to choose one thing to drink for the rest of my life, it would be Parabola.
EDIT: LP, are you attending SCG LA this weekend?

Need opinions. LGS is willing to straight up trade my jund commander set for a chandra pyromaster.
Should I do it, or keep the commander and sell it on ebay?
Tough call. Chandras are value right now. But that Jund deck will be worth money waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than she will. If you have the patience, I'd say don't open it and just sit on it.
In other news, these came in the mail today.

Then I bought a pack on a whim and cracked this.

That's never gonna happen again.

Is the Jund Commander deck worth picking up? I don't see myself getting into CDR, but I happened to catch the Grixis deck this evening when I stopped in at WM for ice. Jund was still there as well...should I grab it and throw it in the closet?
