Yeah. Thing is theory based articles take a few hours to write (eg. Magma jet article was ~4 hours work), whereas articles on deck development (say, "this week do this" or "beating mono black") aren't so intensive, but I kinda need to be playing a lot to have the grounding to write them.

I'd rather just record videos tbh, that's easy money.

DEs and above yeah, aka anything with a positive return on time.

It's the worst feeling in the world when you lose to the derpiest mono red decks due to an extreme case of mana flooding in two games.

And by derpy I mean the guy maindecks Annihilating Fire but no Lightning Strike and Dragon Egg as his only 3 drop. I had to sit back and watch Arena Athlete and Borderland Minotaur take me down one game and Utvara Hellkite in another.

I need a drink.

I didn't look at the prize support for the 8-mans, but noticed a new 3 round Swiss format. Do you know if they're giving extra prize packs as a result of no DEs?

I have no idea what's going on I'm afraid. What's the payout for the 3-round Swiss?

1 pack per round win for the Swiss, at least in Modern where I looked. Good for practice, terrible EV.

Well at least everything is free now, so making a turnaround isn't as big of a deal. You should record some 8mans in the interim since that's all you've got available to you.

Ah so it's exactly the same as the TMNOs, but without the free cards for going 2-1 or better. Fuck wotc is stingy.

Laser - yeah? I'm sorry. :p

But it's actually worked for the best. We moved back from Huntsville AL a few months after we had the twins and my wife finished her Masters. This area is much smaller with not nearly as much to see or do but there are a lot of nice benefits to the area, especially if you've lived in the area as long as I have. Plus there are actually a lot of competitive Magic players here.

Do those grinders just multiqueue all day and have like 70% win rates? I've never played MODO, but it's pretty cool to hear people are doing well with it. Paper Magic is a hobby, but MODO could supplement a salary nicely:

lol that's like 10 hours by train.

Just because they're in the same land mass doesn't mean they're close.

Yeah pretty much. Most if them would be 60-65% winrates. The really elite guys are about 75%. My peak was 79% for a couple of months at the start of the year (my heart still yearns for zealous conscripts).

Just to be sure - you mean Vienna?
Hell, it's more of a money business. Sleeping in Vienna would cost me a fucking lot.
Consider that I'd pay 5x more money for that because of currency.

If you mean Warsaw... then maybe. But I doubt it.
