So, BNG is Kamigawa bad?

Even with better options, Hellrider just doesn't look like a bad card. Not like Rubblebelt Raiders sort of bad.

The best cards in this set are boring, black removal.

The two strongest cards are Brimaz and Xenagos, and it is a very real possibility that the meta barely incorporates them. That's not what you want out of your most powerful spells. I'm hoping they see as much top tier play as their text dictates they should, but we will see.
Standard hobos who play budget garbage should be looked upon with suspicion.

Finding it funny that I think one of the "worst" limited set was the most fun. And that all the "fun" limited sets were unfun. Which makes me think I have a talent for making the best out of something crappy.

Are most people predicting a price drop in Pain Seer? It's hovering around the $6-7 mark right now.

The best cards in this set very well may need to wait until the next set releases to really shine.

They may go up for a short while following release as people want them ASAP for decks.

That's my guess and I suck at the financial aspect of Magic.

Considering MBC has no use of him, I can see Pain Seer dropping more in the future. It would have been much different if his cost was [mana]bb[/mana].

I personally think Pain Seer is complete trash. It requires a lot to make it work well. My prediction is $1 or less in a couple months' time.

BNG overall has some cool cards, but nothing too powerful. I'm excited for a switch-up to Limited. Theros limited is fun enough, but fairly linear - it needed new cards to make it interesting again. Overall, not as disappointed as everyone else seems to be.

I like to play RG Heroic splashing BW for Purge the Profane.
Oh, and U for counterspells.

Well, Isn't that BW Purge the Profane Control splashing RG for cards? Locking down your opponent from the game while still rebuilding your Life as another, important resource?

Give it a druid sub theme with Gilt-Leaf Archdruid - some nice lands you got there. It'd be a shame if something happened to them...
