They call them zemmers.

"Shit, Owen's five hundredth article about how Pack Rat is good isn't ready! What do we do?"

"Have the janitor type something up again."

"He's in Mexico visiting family!"

"Aw fuck... wait, we can always throw up a zemmer."

It's a balmy 6 degrees here, but it feels like -14 with the wind chill.

I looked out and saw that the neighbor's metal dog kennel is down, and I'm trying to determine if the wind did that last night.

The most complicated aspect of maintenance is adjusting the truss rod in a floating neck guitar like a Strat.

Moving bridges up and down to adjust action or fixing the intonation is difficult if your pitch is bad, but mechanically very simple.
I agree with Kaze. Fuck floating bridges for this exact reason. Though I'm not saying Strat-style guitars are bad, but the maintenance can be a pain in the ass sometimes. I've owned pretty much every kind of guitar there is at one point or another and learned how to do my own repairs. The more guitars I've worked on, the more I've realized that the Les Paul is pretty much the perfect guitar. At least for me.

My only issue now with my guitar (aside from having to buy a new set of strings) is to
find out how to eliminate that scratchy sound I get from my volume knobs. I think I have to clean the pots out with a special cleaner or something.

Windstrider, hope it wasn't the dog lol
I wouldn't have minded one bit had their dogs been blown away. Hopefully, this means that they move the damn kennel someplace further back on their property.

They placed their kennel almost at the border between our properties, so their dogs think that my property is their property. I've walked out my front door to find both dogs pooping in my yard and barking at me. I sometimes get home late at night, and the dogs charge up to me as I get out of the car, challenging me. They did it to my father-in-law the other night, and he almost shot one of them.

Other than their damn dogs, they've been great neighbors.

Edit: Yes, I know what you meant.

If you have a shotgun, you can take the pellets out of a shell and just leave the plastic wadding in - it'll make a lot of noise and, if you're close, pop the dog with a light plastic projectile.

I did it to my neighbor's dog who wouldn's quit digging in our garbage. It left a little bald spot on its ass, but it didn't cause any real or permanent damage and the dog stayed out of our trash.

I have no doubts about this...strider considered braining one of them with a shovel the other night when we went out to hang with he and the fam for the evening. Irritating hounds were acting territorial with us about Dan's property--screw that shit. I love dogs, but irresponsible owners set them up for problems.

Dogs will be a constant source of contention among neighbors. But most people will be level headed and willing to listen if you're calm about it. I had to go over to my neighbors house on Saturday because his rottweiler ripped two planks out of the fence separating our properties. I just calmly told him that when I went into my back yard that morning, I was greeted by his dog's gigantic head sticking through the fence, at which point I promptly pissed myself. We had a brand new section of fence by that afternoon, all materials paid for by my neighbor.

I haven't talked to him before this because it became a problem only recently. sure, the dogs would bark at me when I was outside, but they usually stayed on their side of the property. Challenging guests is new, though.

Next time I see him outside, I'll talk with him.

Question, anyone planning on heading to GP Phoenix? My buddy, brother and I plan on heading to the event and are in the early stages of planning to begin training, hotel searching, etc.
I'm interested, depending on how RW is faring at the time. I have most of the cards from last year and could put the deck together. If there are good Modern side events, I'd be more likely to roll with y'all.
