The song of Jayne Cobb pretty much sums up most of the tale.

That sucks, man. ._.All the local shops here that was going to order CE's have all slots filled. I'm not even sure if I can get a regular one at release date.++I can't wait to play Bravely Default, if I can somehow get my hands on a copy.
I'm waiting until it drops a bit. Hopefully I can get the collector's edition.
Well, if it doesn't kill you to wait a bit, Amazon should have
them at not-super-jacked-up-prices not long after the initial zerg-rush of release. That's how I usually go about things.
Like, even if it's incredibly successful(which I assume it will be) you should still be able to pick up a CE on the interwebs a little while after release date. There's usually plenty left over after the die-hard prereleasers get their hands on theirs, and for some reason not too many people will pay an extra 10USD for an art book and an OST. Losers, amirite?
On that note, a lot of people are super pissed that the art book is soft-cover, so they're foregoing the CE. Another point in our favour.

If someone would be so kind as to chuck it up on mtgs (won't load for me at all) and/or reddit/r/spikes (doesn't load properly on my phone) that'd be great.

So when are we going to make our huge recruitment effort? I was under the impression that once Sally moved over to Curse we were going to make a jointed effort to get some fresh blood through these parts?
I'm also considering striking up some kind of arrangement with two of the LGS' here to hand out some D2R life pads. Anyone else gonna make some noise?

We need to have some decent primers written / put up in the standard forums for standard rotation / modern post ban list.
I also think we need volunteers to start wtiting more theory articles like Zem has.
I sincerely hope that
Tshirst, stickers we can put on scorepads, deck boxes etc. would help too.
Or... SLEEVES!

D2R AND FoS do need a recognizable/appealing logo/logotype. Before spending resources on deckboxes etc I would promote the free way. Word of mouth and making a presence on other magic communities. Again what types of MTG players are the target demo that is wanted on the site? Once you open the gates you let all the dogs in.

I don't think reprinting until prices go through the floor is any good, but there a middle way between that and cards going for $50+. If the highest mythics/rares were around $20, that would be totally fine.Don't expect them to get any better. Modern staple supplies are already taxed, but speculators buy up all the surplus to drive prices even higher. By controlling release into the market, they can maintain the brutally high prices and keep a consistent revenue flow. It's the sad reality of any collectible in demand, and Wizards allows the market to stay this way so that they don't piss off the shops by killing their profits. No profits means the storesModern prices are going insane...how long before they announce MM2? That event deck in May is not going to do anything to card prices.
have no incentive to provide gaming space and tournament support, which then results in the whole infrastructure collapsing. Thus, Wizards will continue to wholesale product and wash its hands of the secondary market shenanigans.

I agree, platy, but the people looking to make money off of cards are simply not going to let that happen. In order to push speculators out and have "real" prices, WotC would have to put out enough product to overrun their investment caps. holdouts and overtip and crash the market. This would hose the shops, so it Wizards won't do it. As the wholesaler, they only care about individual card prices to the extent that they impact the sale of their bulk products. Thus, it would take reaching a place where individual card prices were pushing enough people away from the game that it was impacting box sales to the retailers. The non-Standard constructed formats comprise a relatively small piece of the market, so there's little incentive for Wizards to muck about with the natural order. It sucks, but there's really nothing drastic that will be done about it.

It might very well be an impossible equation to solve. I think part of my frustration about it goes back to Modern Masters, which when I saw the announcement about thought: Alright, Chronicles 2! Hopefully done right this time (not overprinted).I agree, platy, but the people looking to make money off of cards are simply not going to let that happen. It wasn't. Well, content-wise it was great, but the limitedness of it was a joke. Stores got barely enough to cover pre-orders, which caused pre-order prices to go up way beyond MRSP, and my own store got enough product to do one small draft. Why couldn't they have done more that one print-run of it? I understand that product take a while to print and package, and ship out and all that. But why not do one printing for the launch and for GP Las Vegas (which was probably awesome for those who could go, I just
wish we'd have a local GP...

Sorry for venting...

Btw Where are you currently at? Owen posted 2 lists (1 bigger with merchants as a reach, the other smaller with pain seer). How good is Pain Seer really without bestow (bestowing flying makes him stellar)
Also any comment on Paul Dunn's Black Heroic Agro (31 points on a GP so doesnt look like a fluke) especially Nighthowler and Agent of the Fates over traditional Desecration Demon and Specter/Zombie combo?
I know it might be bad, but Black have got 2 really powerful bestow creatures, and both Agent and Pain Seer gains a lot from those 2 cards.
List:
http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/A ... /welcome#b
Also where are you at sb out Thoughtseize vs Mono Black when playing Black Agro? I saw Owen was on it (sb out seizes and zombies for specters and dark betrayals).
Funny
thing to those who didnt play black agro vs black devo -> Even on a draw you win a pack rat race if u have an 1 drop. My opponent played normal rat game of not trading, however then he found out he was just dead if he would attack more (as you can just chump rat with Tormented Hero)
