Just make sure you mention CFB so they go read my stuff!

Speaking of which now that I'm less depressed about my performance, between a free deck, free entry, a top 24 cash, performance bonus and article this was a good weekend for me financially at least.

Don't worry, James, I did. A few people mentioned that they watched your videos and didn't read the article, lol. So keep doing both!

Also, I just beat another Black deck. Match up seems somewhat easy since they tend to think I'm on some little aggro plan and they board in more removal, lol.

Shawn Ellis, a local grinder, is wrecking face with a BUG superfriends list based around Kiora. I asked him if he's worried about Lightning Strike and he laughed in my face. Said nobody plays it and it's bad right now cuz of all the 4 toughness critters.

I say, fuck that smelly douchebag. Seriously, the guy fucking reeks. And I doubt he's washed his clothes in awhile.

can be blocked by mutavault or last breath'ed in combat, why bother. the lifebane thing is so random.
It can't be last breath'd, can it? It's a 4/2...

Basically a 4/2 haste (easier to cast, not a lifebane target) vs a 4/4 haste (bigger, dodges Ultimate Price).
Can cast Last Breath in response to ETB trigger.
Right, forgot, but so can firstblade then.

I did have an opponent go Shock, take 2, Thoughtseize, reveal mountain, temple of triumph, Boros Guildgate, two Mutavault, two Chandra's Phoenix.

You got a free deck and you went with the cheapest one possible? Are you contractually stuck to only playing red for CFB?
I'm not buy it's not my place to explain the pay system either.

Wotc need to have a deck value cap in place; your deck must cost less than a set amount to be tournament legal.

Z, I think that was a situation where your favorite quote from that French dude about being defined just by your achievements would not apply. Top whatever doesn't really describe what happened there very well. I see seven straight wins, showing that you obviously dedicated a lot of time towards doing well in this event, and that you brought a winning mindset to the competition. I give no weight to your little screw-up.

I like to describe something like that as a $10 lesson when I stream. When I fuck up and it costs me the game or match, I chalk the mistake up as a lesson in how to play correctly or in choosing better play lines.

In yesterday's DE stream, I made my first $10 mistake by not casting Lightning Helix on a Goblin Electromancer vs. Storm on the very first spell on his critical turn.

I made the second against a UW prison deck by accidentally passing priority in response to a Suppression Field instead of cracking my fetchland, which set me behind 1 turn.

I'm sure I won't make those mistakes again, and Z will be vigilant about card orientation during sideboarding.

Shame that his mistake was more expensive than mine, but the idea is the same.

GP Sydney - Core Set Sealed in August

I'll be working with a team of players to prepare for that, since I am awful at the format, but I might as well try and do well and earn some more pro points.

I *might* travel to GP Santiago later in the year in Chile. My friend has family there I could stay with and it would be quite the experience.

So I may have recruited a Jonathan Rivera over to DtR and possibly to our Clan. He's a fellow Red Mage that played James's CFB list today and had chatted with James in the comments section of his article. He's our kind of people, so hopefully he comes over here.
