I saw something similar... A couple of players at my lgs are trying it out.
I know for a fact that one of them isn't having any success cause I played him in gameday.

As far as I can tell, rw burn rides the line between fucking beautiful and horrendous. It seems like about 3/4ths if the decklists I see for it are poop, while a small number like Z's are insanely powerful.

Another issue is that it's not as easy to play as you would think. It takes a bit of a twist in the mindset to play that style correctly and well.

You have to get both of these things right, and while a lot of people could copy z's deck, it's such a difficult deck to play right that I think it won't get as popular as mono-black or mono-u did, for instance. I do expect to see it finishing really well in the hands of a small number of talented players though.

Well now I'm curious :P
I lost the first round (GW aggro, couldn't find relevant removal first game, and kept a bad hand second game). So I was a bit annoyed going into the second game. It was mono-black, pretty standard list. Chose the wrong removal on the second turn Pack Rat (Lightning Strike instead of Ultimate Price, which meant I couldn't get rid of Nightveil Scepter on turn three) -> loss. So, enter the second game, it was quite grindy but I was confident that I could win it. Then I did this:
n
I sit on five open mana, my opponent is tapped out or with maybe one open mana. Some creatures on the ground on each side (Gary + Pack Rat + 2x Mutavault on his side). He's on 4 life, I have a bit more, but I will die in perhaps 1-3 turns. I topdeck a Lightning Strike. What did I do? Removed his Pack Rat, instead of pointing it at him. The worst part? When the Lightning Strike resolved I realised that I had a Chandra's Phoenix in the graveyard...

I'm too stupid to play red-based decks...
Mate we've all done it. You'll never make that mistake again.

I've had a few messages from people saying that they liked the deck but they've made all these "improvements". Flipping LOL.

That or, "can I substitute something for Mutavault?"

No, no you can't.

What you will quickly learn (if you haven't already), 'I love the deck! I think X and Y are brilliant! However I changed blah blah blah and want you to justify my (poor/budget) decisions.'

Bonus if it's in the comments and they really want to tell you that, no, seriously! I've tested this change wayyyy more than you even though I copied the rest of your deck and admitted I've only started playing it a few days ago.

My feature match opponent messaged me and told me I'm a gentleman and that he hopes we can play a better feature match as undefeated players next time :)

Yifan's cool. No grudge. We should collectively learn from this.

Also now I can justify getting custom Asuka sleeves.

I have no respect for people who manipulate the rules to get game losses. It's just dishonourable. It's one thing if your opponent is cheating and you catch him, but the situation was pretty benign.
