@ The Player Formerly Known As J_S - You made me laugh out loud, man...love the wit and self-confidence in the new name. Of course, you realize that you've just aligned yourself with our LA brotha...LD and LK (or LP, I guess) it will be.

@James - Fair warning...if you intend to play those sleeves, find the head judge at any event and ask him to give you a ruling then and there over the reflectivity of the sleeves. I had some schmuck at a PR of all things trying to rule shark (I love the art and thus have many cool sleeve designs) by stating that my sleeves were too reflective and thus unacceptable. The judge explained to the twit that PR is not competitive REL to begin with, but when the guy try to show his "smarts", the judge started cutting the deck at random spots and asking the guy to ID the top card in the reflection--which he could not. End of discussion. Numb nuts dickhead the guy was, but do know that
there have been issues made of art sleeves in competition because they are "shiny" rather than matte.

Also James, I'd be happy to read your copy for tone if you still need input. I am not by any means a fast copy editor, but I'm pretty good with word-smithing for spin.

I've had bad luck with patterned sleeves. The first variety I bought ended up peeling at the sides as I mash shuffled.

The others I bought must have been from a crappy company because some of the patterns were obviously placed differently on about half the sleeves.

I now know why I like Jund style deck so much; I just always draw better in the mirror. Thoughtseize my 2 drop? I draw dark confidant. Play your goyf to protect your lily while I'm hellbent? I draw my lily, kill your goyf, kill your lily. Pulse my Goyf? I draw sword of Light and Shadow.

"When I'm dead and gone LD, all that burns shall be yours."

"But what about that watery place over there?"

"That's the frownyard son. You must never go there lest you want to suffer tears of infinite sadness!"
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Don't mention Frownyard. It's current status as not tournament legal is a huge sore spot for me.

Yeah, hypermats are amazing. I've been using them since my lgs got them in.

I will say that they've gotten a little grimey after a few months, even with playing on a mat at all times. That's just normal though.

I've heard some reports of minor corner splitting but the worst I've gotten is a few bent corners. They're amazingly well built and strong...

That said, I heard a rumor that dragon shield is making a matte sleeve soon, and I'm excited to try that if they do.

I tried the six shops closest to me, no Asuka sleeves. Plenty of smutty, naked anime girls, but no Eva.

So remember that movie Arachnophobia, and that scene where the spider was crawling up Jeff Daniels and the end of the movie? I now know the horror of how that feels.

I was lying down on the couch watching Netflix drifting in and out of sleep, when I wake up and look down, only to see A MOTHER FUCKING BLACK WIDOW ON TOP OF MY HEART. Too scared to ask for help and too far to grab anything to maybe swipe it, I had the most horrifying ten minutes of my life keeping still. It finally moves off of me when I set the world record of a couch high jump and dashed to grab a jar. A few minutes later, I flushed that fucker down the toilet wearing oven mitts.

Thank Purphoros it was crawling across my chest and not towards my face. I honestly can't imagine how I would have reacted other than sheer and utter terror.

Sorry for the scare, TBuzz...not fun. For future reference, however, widows don't have terribly long fangs (unlike that monster Bird-Eating Spider they used in the movie); typical winter clothing would have likely served to keep you safe enough to grab something to brush her off. Also, next time kill the bitch before flushing; the flush is not a sure death sentence.

A widow in your home is a very good reason to do some thorough investigating and cleaning, particular in the basement, garage, dark cabinets and closets. You do not want them taking up residence...

Best sleeves are Dragon Shields to me. They are like indestructible .... unless you shuffle like a blacksmith they will last for years. They easily collect dust/dirt though so you should always use a playmat with them..

Get your own playmat. Something personal that can be recognizable and definitely won't be duplicated. Custom ones don't even cost that much. Mine was $20.

Whenever I play REL I use the dragon shields just because nobody whines about them and they will stand up to the feverish shuffling my opponents subject my cards to hoping that it will affect my draws if they shuffle my deck 400 times. Me? I just tap their deck and you're good. I've had people call a judge on me because I didn't shuffle their deck -- the judge comes over, asks if i saw them shuffle, I say yes, and they say alright. We're done here. Who knew that trusting fellow magic players can put them on tilt before we start, LOL.
