@J_S: Moving forward will you be on the Revel MD plan? I'm still very concerned about Monsters, Junk, rock and GW....
I would actually think Revel would be helpful in Junk. That's the only match I think shortening the game favors us.

When you guys see the Quarter Final video from my last event, you'll get to see me take the trip to value town.
When are they putting those up, anyway?

So, are you satyr or YP in your sideboard then?
not sure when they'll be up.

For now, EotGR main and SF side.

Not sure if this is a consideration -- but EotGR seems like a guy that causes people to panic and misplay. Probably last about 2 weeks then everyone has a plan for him.

Maybe I am crazy but what about 3 YP 3 SFD 3 EotGR in 75?

Between main and side I have four of each heh

Looks solid J_S

I would prefer to have YP$ MD and Revel over the Drinkers in the SB but that is whats testing for it for.

On that note Dauntless had a interesting plan with running some number of Spark Troopers (1 or 2 MU) over the Blood/Flames/shock to support the Revel/MC pain which I think is rather clever, from my understanding he has already has two finishes with his creation.

Yep, thoguh it still good agaisnt mono black so the choice to keep it in or not depends on your meta and how many people you expect to splash the green.

This is super similar to the version I settled on early this week. Only difference is Flames, Banishing Light, and the numbers in the Sideboard. Looks good.

Are you thinking that banishing light is too slow for us, favor another chains over it or something?

Searing Blood is better than Flames. Banishing Light is slow. We are already favored G1 vs decks that can't remove it, so the matchups we want Banishing Light vs in game 1...they have answers too.

I'm glad they recently changed the restriction of only having 4 of the same card in a deck.

Searing Blood is the classic hit and miss card. It's either VERY good or VERY dead, depending on MU and/or board position. it's stronger/more necessary in the Eidolon build than in the YP build, because Eidolon turns the aggro matchups into merciless races...

So to summarize your point, game 1, you think we're giving up points vs creature decks by running a slower card than chain and vs non-creature decks, that banishing light is as dead a card as chain?

Or are you proposing 2 chain and filling the slot with something else like another searing blood?

Honest question, no snark intended.

Question for those running Banishing Light over a Chained to the Rocks in the main, or in the whole 75:
What non-creatures do you find yourself casting it on that you'd consider "must answer?"

I pretty much only found myself using it against the early Planeswalkers like Domri but then it takes up my whole turn which is particularly bad if I haven't landed a creature yet.

For me it's:

Detention sphere or Jace: Even if it only sticks for a turn or two, I'm happy
Whip
The usual fatties
Master of waves

I get the DtR argument but I like not having to clog my sideboard with situational answers.

Here's the list. I managed to 4-0 another DE tonight and am now 77% out of 17 matches on MTGO. Eidolon is amazing against a control, I haven't had enough matches vs. midrange (BG Rock, Junk, Monsters etc.) to be really able to say how bad he is
there... ;-)

How's that ricochet working out for you? Is that a concession to the mirror picking up after SCG? It seems really bad everywhere else.

WR is only for the mirror (kinda like how assembles is only for bx devotion back in the day) but vs the mirror it pretty much just wins you the game if you catch a Boros Charm or WLH.

Also solid result Dauntless  I really like the Spark Trooper Tech with Revel

Decided to try that deck tonight and got blown out by mono green. Not sure if I just got bad luck with him hitting 4 creatures of garruk in both games, Idk. Any tips for the matchup? I brought in dancers mortars and all my chains, boarded out skull cracks, eidolons of revelry. I just didn't see any creatures in time to put pressure on him.

Nope, Elricity is still on Flames of the Firebrand which is fine since it can sweep 0/1 decks and kill x/3 creatures.

That said if your running FDS dancer your doing yourself a disfavor not attempting that Blood + FDS dancer blowout.

I'm inclined to agree. I also think Searing Blood is kind of important for G1 in the mirror.

In regards with your SB guide

vs Bx Devotion:
I'll argue that on the play Firedrinker Satyr is very strong - on the draw however I'll rather have the Boros Charm because you just set yourself up for painful tempo plays like: you T1 FDS him T2 Cure, DF, Doom Blade etc... etc....

vs Mirror:
This is a next leveling nightmare if they board out creatures and go for the T//T route, I think I'll take 2x Shock (shock hits Revel on T2 which is rather important) over 2x Chains most of the time.

I like the rest

I get that you don't want situational answers in the board, but wear // tear and CtR both have more than enough targets right now to be considered more than situational. Banishing Light seems to be more of a crutch than anything else whenever I see it played. DSphere and Jace are both cards that you can play around/through, and the rest of the cards listed here are taken care of by our traditional removal suite. The reason why you shouldn't play Banishing LIght isn't because it dies to removal, chained does that
as well, it's because Banishing Light is such a huge tempo loss. Being able to play a one mana removal spell and a burn spell in the same turn is very important; we're not a control deck.

I get the point on mono black and you're probably right.

I also understand the leveling argument in the mirror, but I like chain in case they don't board phoenix out. I don't think most people aren't as smart as you :p

Do IT!!!!!!!

This is actually a really important
point - the majority will just continue to spam creatures so going with all chains would work the only problem is if your Opp. catches on (usually another DtR member....) when things become a problem.... (information is power!!!) - its the same deal with YP$ really, he is really good against the DtR burn decks but he is a huge liability vs the typical brew (imo).
