The only deck I have serious trouble against is that mono white enchantment deck, which I don't see often but can never beat without diluting my sideboard.
Kiki-Jiki + Keening Apparition for t3h lulz.

I considered Duergar Hedge-Mage but it seemed a bit too conditional without more basics/fetches

[deck]Modern BBBSG v. 1.29[/deck]

Dropped Thalia, she's just not doing enough for me vs. Affinity and Pod, but helps against Storm (which is on the decline). The Boros Charms, however, are kicking all sorts of ass against Jund and BG (which are everywhere lately). Surprise 4-8 damage EOT has put away a bunch of games that I had no business winning. I even managed to race a burn deck with Bolt Helix and Charm while my FoD got in for 2 every turn.

Ive been playing for 4 hours this morning and haven't dropped a match.

Where'd my feature article dammit? :)

I made a small change, swapping Burst Lightning for Electrickery. I'm burning out fools very reliably now.

I never see Storm anymore, I think the two Eidolons (revel, rhetoric) have shut that deck down. Now I have 3-4 new slots in the SB to play with, but I'm not sure what to put there. A transformational Isochron Scepter SB plan seems like a blowout vs. a bunch of decks, and pretty funny now that I have 16 burn spells.

I was looking for a 1-of to round out the deck, so I put a Chandra, Pyromaster in there. I managed to draw her in all my matches and she was destroying fools, excellent addition to the deck.

The transformational "take out the Kikis, put in Isochron Scepters, laugh maniacally" sideboard plan was awesome.

The T2 Scepter imprinting Boros Charm vs. a Jund deck was beyond value.

1-of Chandra seems like a good idea for a lot of heavy red decks, but especially here because your cards are so powerful and proactive.

As a note for the future, in case I forget: if I start losing too much to all-in Twin Deceiver Exarch shenanigans, just swap Burst Lightning for Path to Exile.

So far it's been no problem, but the meta might switch such that damage-based removal is no longer good.

I've been on vacation or occupied with Saturday morning outings for the last 4 weeks, which has trolled my streaming but helped my state of mind :)

I'm adjusting my work schedule to put me home closer to 4 pm now, which should make playing in weekday dailies easier.

I didn't have much time this week, but played in an 8man and went 2-1, flooding out to lose my 3rd game of the match. I've been playing with Auriok Champion and Volcanic Fallout again and enjoying the bye against Twin.

I'm frustrated that I can't play more, but the deck is still good when I take it into battle.

I really liked the Thalias. They are great against our worst match-ups.

I was using 2-3 Blood Moons Main Deck, but there were a lot of matches here in which it was dead and it was very hard to cast it against scapeshift since the opponent just remanded or izzet charmed it since it was a turn 3 drop.

Thalia as a turn 2 drop puts more pressure, and gives you often a counterfree creature cast in turn 3.

Which list are you currently using in mtgo, ham?

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at when we talked about Blood Moon earlier. Thalia is pretty boss, even in matchups where she's not really hosing anyone.

Current hot mess -

The 4 Boros Charm (flex spot) can be Figure of Destiny, Thalia, a Blood Moon or different burn depending on meta. I just noticed that I was winning a lot of games out of nowhere with "EOT Boros Charm, Bolt, untap kill you?" It reduces the Kiki synergy to have too many spells, but that's not my primary win condition anyway.

Charm is also helpful against Tron and Jund, which seem to be on the rise again.

For a glimpse into how far down my brewer's rabbit hole goes, I played Grand Abolisher for a week and enjoyed the opportunity to do whatever I wanted on my turn, including going infinite with Kiki. What's that Twin, you want to flash in your d00d during my turn? Nah.

Obviously it played poorly with Volcanic Fallout, but still big thumbs up. I think I enjoyed it more than Thalia.

Hey Ham (and anyone else), I'm sure you are at no loss for things to test, but how do you feel about Urabrask the Hidden? In my reckoning, he is very good against resto, haste creatures, Finks & pod etc., whilst buying you an extra turn against twin. I know you tested some high end stuff like batterskull before, and this seems good with your own restos and otherwise non-hasty creatures. I want to try him as a curve topper in a figure/dragonlord deck.

Went to Top4 with the deck in a GPT in my city yesterday (had a tarmogoyf as prize for the 1st place), recused the offer to split it in 4. Lost to affinity after flooding both games, which in the 2nd game, I managed to draw 6 lands in a row and did not draw a single sideboard card while my opponent drew 2 arcbounds, 2 cranial platings and etc.

Black/white and black/red temples? Manabase seems pretty tight mind... Magma jet seems underpowered compared to the other options. Horizon canopy? Chandra, pyromaster?

Urabrask is a neat card, but I think it's too expensive for Modern. Something like Imposing Sovereign might be better if you're looking to hose Twin a bit. I've never played with it, so my opinion should come with a grain of salt

The effect seems very powerful against all (off the top of my head) the creature strategies in modern. Imposing sovereign is probably way more sensible though *sadface*

Imposing Sovereign and Grand Abolisher is a soft lock against Twin combo (but not much else), for whatever that's worth, lolz.

Some Ideas for you:

http://www.reddit.com/r/spikes/comments ... dernmagic/

One thing I like from this list is Sword of Light and Shadow - sometimes nonbo with Lavamancer, however rebuying combo pieces, relevant protections, lifegain. Very good with Fulminator Mage.

Also I wondered all the time why the hell you didnt play any planeswalkers, when there is numerous good Red and White planeswalkers. Are you done with BBBG and concentrating on Red Black currently?

Thanks for the link :)

I'm still working on this deck, but haven't had much time to play lately with work and real life.

I've played SOLaS and enjoyed it, but it could be difficult to connect with a low creature count.

After my success with Prophetic Flamespeaker in my RB deck, I decided to come back to BBBSG and see if it plays well with the other cards.

Turns out it's bonkers here, too.

I've been screwing around with this unrefined list -

[deck]Modern BBBSG v. 1.31[/deck]

Slayers' Stronghold + Prophetic Flamespeaker is the real deal.

I'm not
losing any games where I untap with either Brimaz or Flamespeaker.

The leylines in the SB are for the high RDW/Burn percentages I see on MTGO now, as well as the return of Rock decks packing a lot of discard/Liliana.

Flamey fills that nice spot between going all-in on blink/Kiki and providing value on its own, which reduces the effectiveness of Torpor Orb against me.

Even if they board in Orb, I still end up with a good value creature (except for Blade Splicer).

I had a pretty wicked board state this morning of 2 Flamespeakers and a Stronghold. Swing in, collect value. Attack for 6? Sweet.
