Three UR Storm decks? That was a surprise.
It's not a bad meta call when most decks aren't playing counterspells, the expected meta ISN'T Burn w/ Eidolon, and most decks are relying on creature beats to win games (such as UR Delver).
Shahar Shenhar's deck is amazing lol.
You're goddamn right.

Also, Maverick's post is hilarious and is most likely going to ring true in the next few days when articles start coming out.

It's just that I found UR Delver really hard to beat with Storm when I played it. But that was in the spring, and I wasn't that experienced with the storm deck. So...

Don't be so suburban!

Modern changed drastically after the release of Journey, M15, and especially Khans. Journey brought Burn to tier 1.5-tier 1 status by introducing Eidolon, M15 gave Affinity Ensoul Artifact, and the Khans warped the format with Treasure Cruise, Jeskai Ascendency, Swiftie, and Dig. We are definitely not playing early 2014's Modern format.

While you spend your time convincing me about Affinity's inherent dominance, UR Delver continues to push Affinity out out of the format.

Burn, however, is an unwinnable matchup and that's where you see Smash so it probably isn't even worth mentioning.

Affinity doesn't lose to Delver as badly when you play blue instead of red cards. You can play the same game they do. Blue also makes you a little better against Ascendancy.
In all fairness, Affinity is still a tough matchup for Burn. SO, yes, regarding the Burn matchup, it's all about the hand.

But with that said, you'll always be my Arrogant Wurm to my Wild Mongrel.

I feel exactly the opposite about the burn vs. affinity matchup. I lose that matchup every time. I've been testing for two weeks against random MODO daily winning decks and burn is hard as shit to beat. Everything else feels up in the air.
In all super seriousness, what is giving you problems? Affinity is actually tough for me for several reasons. When I have a hand consisting of Forked Bolt, Searing BXXXX, and Grim Lavamncer, it is sometimes easy. Postboard, (when I was playing it) Firedancer just won me games I had no business winning.

On the other hand, I've been beaten silly by the intial turn 1-2 hand-dump followed by an Ensoul or Plating and could never recover. At times, Affinity can race far better than Burn can. ESPECIALLY when Ravager is involved.

As an experienced Burn player, I can say that I will almost win against an inexperienced player playing a tuned list or an experienced player playing a bad list every time. But Purphoros help me if I play an experienced player piloting a decent-to-great list.
