anyone got an idea of what was in the GW deck from the PT?

Looks interesting enough to add to the gauntlet.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Purp, since you're gonna ask me, I'm locked into Jeskai Heroic for all events this weekend.

lp aka the only heroic player
Standard hobos who play budget garbage should be looked upon with suspicion.

Heroic was(imo) horrible before cause it couldn't beat competent opponents but center soul, temur battle rage, and center soul collectively make both bant and jeskai decks viable cause the decks actually do things now besides make big creatures and draw cards.

It is ironic that I'm high on the deck now after giving Z grief about it for so long.

if Zendikar doesn't end with Emrakul eating Bolas to a perma death I will declare this all a waste

Virulent Plague is REALLY annoying.
You're complaining because you're playing bw shadowstriker, right?
Ha, I wish.

Jeskai Tokens in case you were being serious.

My buddy is playing 3 in the board of his abzmidrange. Like ok maybe I'll get an erase or negate one of them. 2 is too much.
I'm playing 2 exemplars in my board but i'm only doing it ironically.

It just blows my mind that people have room in their board for multiples such narrow answers. I'm probably the only Jeskai Tokens player in my region and only play 1-2 times a month but I'll be damned if people won't be packing 2-3 of these things in their sideboards.

I don't mind losing to singletons. Losing to a 2-3 of really makes me consider playing a different deck. I'd usually shrug my shoulders and say "thems the breaks" but if multiple people are doing this it comes down to just refusing to continue running your head into a brick wall despite it not belonging there.

I've decided not to do Standard States tomorrow because the payout is fucking terrible. Don't care about the playmat and I don't need packs. I'd rather just sleep and write later.

Though I will try to make Modern States simply for the fact that I love that damn format. Payout still sucks though.

This is a 8minute clip from David Sirlin's podcast that I don't particularly recommend but in this particular really good clip, Sirlin details my good friend WaterD's comedic adventure through a card game whose community is bad at games. Thought you guys might like it.

Looks like Dezani was DQ'd.
Dezani is such a savage that he managed to get himself DQ'd for lying about stuff in the 2-5 'Can't gain a goddamned thing' bracket. Every post about him has been negative, it's pretty real.

Amulet guy get getting DQ'd for palming his opening 7 explains a whole lot about how that deck smashed out of nowhere with a relatively stupid pilot.

to quote PSulli,
Presenting 53 and palming 7 is some cartoon super villain shit.

Hey LP I got 1st with the Abzan Aggro list at a 50 man FNM tonight. Warden/Lion with Dromoka's Command was the combo being played all night.

The elves call that "Justice of the Unicorn."

He picked up the hand after after being called on the lack of reveal but you are right he did pick his hand up.
Props to me for scrubbing to the turn before that play without knowing when to expect it because I am on phone all weekend.

He probably just wanted to keep his curve low. Ashcloud is usually better against the UB decks, which there seemed to be a lot of at this tournament.

Ok guys so I have GP in 1 week in Cracow.

How do we analyse what happened in Brussels?

I am thrown between:
[*]Jeskai (Dragons from PT or Ascendancy tokens)
[*]Abzan agro (either smaller (LP Style) or bigger (one from PT with Whisperwoods))
[*]Red green tokens (small red splash atarka command and some sb cards)
[*]Big Red black devo played by Raphael Levy
[*]Either Sultai or Abzan Whip splash Atarka
[*]Ojoutai Bant by Wescoe.

I dont think I want to play control so those 5(maybe better to say 8) decks.

BTW, do you guys think Levys big red devo is better than RG Dragons?

Ok. I heart that deck. It plays a lot of nifty things.

Am I missing something or are there no basic Swamps in there? I see the Bloodstained Mires and Temples, but no Swamps.

Look at SB. only black cards in SB, so you dont need swamp in md.

Looking forward same build if I decide to play it?

If he's running Mires there's literally no reason to not run a single Swamp. I'm sure it's actually supposed to be in there.

EDIT: forgive me, I have nap brain. It's in the board, windstrider.

On the upside, friend Andrew finished 18th in his first PT.

Well I'm less frustrated atm, and when I think about it, I had a pretty good states.
I played mono red, finishing 5-2 (lost my first round and my win and in, weird)

I beat esper control, sultai control, the mirror, abzan aggro, and jeskai tokens, losing to jeskai aggro and abzan aggro.

I'll probably have a full report up sometime. But it was cool, and there was more bad than good.
