Public Appeals: I can see ups and downs, but I dont like the idea in general. Mob justice isn't really my thing and a lot of the appeals deal with some pretty iffy stuff that is best kept private (names, addresses, etc.). If other are gung ho about it, I won't fight it though.

The reason I am not for Public Appeals in the abstract is that people seem to have confused "Transparency" with "sniffing the dirty underwear in the hamper." Like, explaining actions is one thing but putting yourself and your process out there 100% isn't good for things... at least I've never seen it work.

I was, but no snark meant at all. The idea of having appeals be public is pretty out there to me. In theory there is a lot that could go wrong with it. I really have no idea so I want to see another site where it has worked in practice, not theory. I've spent a lot of time looking at how other sites work and have seen things that do and do not work. So, instead of making
my mind up on pure theory I want to just see how it works.

I've said I am open to the idea if everyone else wanted it, but then I thought I was being asked right now what I thought... so, to answer that question I need more information. That's all.

Something similar, yes? We are unique in a lot of ways but I assume that somewhere out there someplace does public appeals of some sort. And I assume that you guys go other
places online and maybe saw something. Really I just want information so I'm not just theorycrafting a potentially big thing. I didn't know that there aren't other sites with appeals. Most, however, just tell you to contact an Admin... but after that I have no idea what happens. We mention appeals in our rules, but it would be easy enough to miss if you were just skimming.

You offered what I thought was a legitimate suggestion, thought I was being a dick, and I just said that I wanted to see examples before I could make an informed decision. I hardly see how that's a shitty response. My gut says that public appeals are a terrible idea because they feel like private matters that aren't really a Colosseum event and I've never seen anything anywhere else to prove me wrong on that. Again, I don't like making informed opinions when I don't feel like I have enough information. I can pull an answer out of my ass but I know that it would be taken as something more than something I pulled out of my
