Modern masters draft tonight, I'm pretty excited.

Also a friend hooked me up with all the fetches but one for my burn deck in modern, so I'll be getting that together soon too.

I'm also going to SCG open in Philly on the 22nd, going to be playing Gruul smash (courtesy of Fate, his thread helped me get into the deck pretty fast). Hopefully they'll put me on stream and I'll be beating some scrub.

June 22nd? There's an SCG in Philly? Guess I just found my first larger tournament.

Burning Earth should have been 3CMC at most. Not sure how effective it will be at 4CMC.
In a meta where decks are playing as little as 3 basics? Incredibly powerful.

This card by itself makes me wonder how strong Grixis is going to be. Playing removal.dec with this in the shell makes it incredibly hard for your opponent to...well, do anything. It's like all of the good things about Manabarbs without
any of the bad things.
I forgot to mention that I wanted it at 3CMC so low curve aggro has easier access to it. Grixis is definitely going to have a field day with this.

I guess I just want Price of Progress badly...
I doubt they will ever reprint PoP. It'd be far too powerful in Modern.

Drafted this deck in an 8-man cube draft with my cube today. I took a picture but it got lost in my phone. Can't show off my pimp. :(

[deck]
Creatures:
1 Goblin Guide
1 Jackal Pup
1 Grim Lavamancer
1 Stromkirk Noble
1 Lightning Mauler
1 Stormblood Berserker
1 Manic Vandal
1 Hell's Thunder
1 Soltari Champion
1 Blistering Firecat
1 Thundermaw Hellkite

Spells:
1 Firebolt
1 Lightning Bolt
1 Burst Lightning
1 Boros Charm
1 Lightning Helix
1 Rift Bolt
1 Char
1 Sulfuric Vortex
1 Flames of the Firebrand

Artifacts:
1 Black Vise
1 Bonesplitter

Planeswalkers:
1 Koth of the Hammer

14 Mountain
1 Library of Alexandria
1 Strip Mine
1 Clifftop Retreat[/deck]

Went 3-0 easily, going 2-0 in all my games and they all lasted less than 10 minutes. Even managed to race a resolved Baneslayer Angel. Burn spells are so good.

nWe opened 4 Modern Masters as prize support and I got first pick. The only card worth picking was Dark Confidant. Pretty good deal for a $7 entry fee.

Val: Thoughts be with you and your wife.

Windstrider: Hope for the best.

Photo: Hope you enjoy your vacation! I do not live by Omaha myself (about 2 and a half hours away in a smaller town), but I've always enjoyed both omaha and lincoln! I'm sure your kids will love the zoo! I've been to it about a dozen times, and it never gets old, at least for me. The Desert dome and the Night are classics. Though I am partial to the Jungle exhibit myself. I wish I could've given you some more good spots to go, but I have had football camp since Wednesday.

As for the camp, it was fun, lots of crushing indeed! We were a little raw, but that is what you expect when half the starters are new. I got first team O-Line for the camp, and another one of our players made 1st team D-line as well. All in all, I was happy we went, even though I feel like crap.(MY LEGS!!!!)

Well they finally figured out what's wrong with my mum this time. Uterine cancer. Oi...this woman has been through enough in her life already, she just can't catch a break.

This will be the third terminal illness she's survived. I say it that way because I'm fairly certain that nothing can kill her short of Zeus' lightning.

This clan is full of folks who've ridden some tough roads and come out stronger for all the bumps and potholes. Dan, don't hesitate even a second to give a call and come our way if y'all need a safe, unknown place to bed down. Alex, here's hoping that your mom gives Old Man Death the brushback again.

Omaha has been a blast; huge summer art festival going on this weekend and we had a blast talking to artisans and eating way too much good food. The zoo was a blast as always yesterday and we were thoroughly worn out by the time we hit bed last night (that is, after doing a whole sampler set at Uptown brewing company along with an amazing Omaha ribeye). Tomorrow we'll hit Joslyn Art Museum before we head back home.

Thanks, guys. The next hearing is the last week of June. I am so hoping she tries to contact my daughter. The terms of her release specify no contact with either of the girls. We'll see how long that lasts.

Too bad I changed my cell number yesterday. :D
