I'm literally only going to a prerelease because I want free food, and my store is doing a "Prerelease sausagefest."No prerelease weekend for me. We are travelling for a family get together so I'll miss both events being run. Not too big of a loss since I'm not too thrilled with M14 anyways. I'll get my share of it next weekend, I'm sure.
Which is code for "Come to our prerelease and we'll feed you hotdogs and bratwurst." And bratwurst is fucking delicious.

well, i was very close from being fired at work.... whoops
me and a coworker just gotten finished moving a bunch of really heavy tables and cabnets, and when we got finished, i did a little dance type thing, and my boss happened to walk in, about to yell at me for something i did earlier in the day ( Didn't get quite far enough out when wheedwhacking around the trees) and exclaims "Why are you messing around, there are more things to get done!, If you want to mess around, than you can just make this your last day!" and leaves... I was stunned to say the least..
I managed to clear things up and not get fired, under the condition that i will rarely be alowed to work with that co-worker, due to the fact that we are good friends and tend to distract one another.....
just one of those times when you realize that life isn't all fun and games....

foil Chandras Phoenix and Chandra herself.
aka we win
uhhh, awesome. Only thing that was cool I pulled was the Good Hydra. Got to swing with him as a 64/64. God Tier! Maybe Gruul Ragehammer has a new plaything?

Fate, sorry to hear about your car troubles. Unfortunately Jiffy Lube is the absolute worst place you could have taken your car. Even Wal Mart would have been better.
Go to Autozone, Advance Auto, or the like and ask for them to check for codes on your car. When you see a check engine light, codes are stored on your ECU that give clues on what the problem is. Once you get the code report back and I'll brainstorm some possibilities.
If the Jiffy Lube guy really told you it was an issue with o2 cylinders he's an idiot and should never touch a car again. No such thing exists. There are o2 sensors though.

I don't know shit about cars and I really wish I had a father growing up now
just got run the fuck around by these jiffy lube clowns.
Hoping
someone in the clan has cars as a part time hobby:
1. I come in for a standard oil change, they do it all w/e and good and during checkout they ran down their list of shit they filled up. I was charged for two quarts of antifreeze because that was empty. They said they filled my windshield wiper fluid
Me: "How? The reservoir is under the subwoofer in my trunk, how'd you fill it up?"
Them: "Hold I'll go ask. [Comes back] they fuond another place to put it."
Me: "ok..."
I go out to drive away, there's no wiper fluid. Whatever, fuckin liars.
On the way home I notice the car's running differently. The engine is just chugging and its very noticeable. I figure they gave me bad oil or something, and keep going.
Thursday:
The chugging is worse, and a cylinder misfires and the check engine light comes on. What the fuck. I go back because of their warranty guarantee bullshit, and ask it to be checked out. They say its the O2 cylincders misfiring, and they don't go
anywhere naer that. They also say "the check engine light was on when you came in for service, so..."
Me: "What?? No it DEFINITELY came on yesterday thats why I"M HERE."
Them: "Oh thats what I was told."
Me: "This is shadier by the second."
Them: *goes to get manager. I hear him in the back "go talk to the kid"
Disrespectful fucks.
Manager tries to run me around, gose "well if they did put windshield wiper in the wrong place its just water in the summer mix. The winter mix has alchohol n shit and you dont have to worry about that."
I go: "I WAS charged for antifreeze, it says it right here on the billl! And why is that reservoir empty? Did you charge me and not fill it up? Did it get sucked into the engine and cause this problem?"
He just makes more excuses, takes me underneath to show me where the O2 cylinders are. I don't care if they aren't near the oil, they definitely caused the issue.
Fate doesn't believe
in coincidences.
So he starts offering me a refund n shit, but I don't care about the refund, I care about fixing my car to the way it was before I took it to this place. I gotta fill out a report and wait for some customer service bullshit, which will take who knows how long and if they'll even give me what I want.
Fuckfuckfuckfuck. Accidents are one things, but I can't stand people who can't man up and own them and want to cover their own ass.

This weekend is just a whole level of suck.
Car accident yesterday. My brilliant teenager decided to go to the pool without sunscreen, so she has a severe sunburn. And now my son woke up with diarrhea this morning.
I had arranged my daughter and a friend to watch my son while my wife was at work so that I could sneak off to an afternoon prerelease. That's not going to happen.
I hate being an adult sometimes.

My store had a $10 last DGR draft last night. I went 2-1 (they always cut drafts short because they start at 7 and the people who own the place want it closed by 10. It was still 11 when I got out). I had a nice Esper deck + green for Beck and Ready, made possible by 3 green keyrunes and a Simic Guildgate. Played 6 gates in total, so my mana was pretty good. While I didn't win a Cackler, one of the guys that did wanted to trade his for my Izzet Charm promo, so I guess that's a win.
Currently trying to decide between playing in a prerelease or going to a Phillies game with a buddy. I'm leaning towards going to the game, but prereleases have always been fun, and I missed the last 2. The chance at getting pulls along the lines of Nuwen or Christen also makes this option very tempting.

M14 sealed is a garbage format. Really bomby. Too much stuff like that mythic hydra that are either answer immediately or lose and/or only die to doom blade.
anaged to go 2-1-1 with a UW fliers list with four (!) celestial flares, two divinations, and a seraph of the sword was the closest thing to a bomb i opened in my colors.

I know this feeling entirely too well.
On a happier note, my wife and I have been so busy this month moving into our new place that we've had very little time for "extracurricular" activities. My mental clock was telling me that time of the month probably should be here by now, and I joked to my wife that
perhaps in spite of our lack of sex she may be pregnant. Well, she took a pregnancy test for lulz and it said she was pregnant. So not even a month after her miscarriage she could be preggers. She has to go get tested for confirmation but if it ends up being so let's hope it goes a little smoother this time.

Went 4-1 at FNM last night. My only loss was due to some variance against a novice Jund player in the first round - I was mana screwed game 2 while he played back-to-back-to-back Huntmaster and game 3 involved an unanswered Olivia (I just needed to draw ANY burn spell since he was at 1 friggin' life).
Two of my matches were won off of the back of Volcanic Strength. I can see why that card is so good now.
However, the one card that deserves to be called MVP of the night is Flames of the Firebrand. My gods, it was just blowout city whenever I played it. Here's an example from my game versus Naya Humans:
Dude goes BTE -> BTE -> LM, bond to LM. Before attackers are declared, I Spear the bonded BTE. On my turn, I Flames of the Firebrand the LM and the BTE, leaving him with nothing. Later on in the same game after he drops 2 Experiment One in the same turn, I topdeck a FotF to clear his board once again. I later win
by giving an Ash Zealot a VS and then pairing with ole Stoney for the ultimate Hadouken.
Anyhoo, I got my 2nd Cackler from getting 2nd so I'm pretty excited about that. 30 bucks store credit also, which basically reads double Mutavault as far as I'm concerned. All in all, a good night.
@Fate - I appreciate the advice, but I think Skullcrack wouldn't have done much for me. However, the guy that won last night went undefeated with Hexproof, so I could be wrong.
@Valdarith - Fingers crossed for ya'll.

Like I said in the past, skullcrack is monoreds real only out against bant hexproof sometimes. Yeah you can just be faster and win, but without BTE.dec are you fast enough every time? Hopefully. I don't know if I'd cut VS for it given more time, since if that's in your meta you see why its house (you should throw it on a Frostburn weird sometime and watch the madness ensue), but its worth considering.
I got luck sacked in some mirror matches too last night. I'm about to stabilize on the draw in the mirror with GCR down in front of his hellrider, he topdecks mark of mutiny. G3 I have him with lethal on swingback and one reckoner on Defense at 2 life after he emptied his hand, he topdecks spear. Ah well. Nuwen crushed the mirror in the finals (he was 2 months into magic, and baited out a spear with BTE then played hellrider POST combat because he didnt want it to die... she would've been at 4 life if he had just manned up
and swung and had to chump her stonewright. She TBloods his hellrider for lethal lawl) and got us our 2nd cackler (which she gave me, and I gave her mine from last week. Now we have soul brother cacklers).
@Vala: Nah I'm just the idiot. The paper says O2 sensors malfunctioned, and that an engine cylinder misfired. I just combined them in my mind. Best wishes to you and your wife
@Wind: it feels like its raining n pourin for us brother. Let's weather this storm and wait for some sunshine (with sunscreen this time ;D)

Windstrider, I feel your pain. I was all set to go to the prerelease after I got my bonus from work, and then my wife tells me we have crazy ass bills to pay and her doctors appointment is going to be $200. On top of that, she has new medications prescribed that we weren't expecting. Bonus gone.

Hope everyones pre-release went well.
I went 2/2 at FNM, ditched midnight release for friends and beer. At the end of the night, we here about some private poker partie so decide to crash it.
For the first 5 minutes, it was like some scarface shit. I go upstairs where the games gonna be played before they set up, and everyones doing blow, speaking in tounges(there where some Russian cats and Armenians). After that initial shock it was cool though. I am sure after the 6 hours I was there, I was the only person not doing blow. I've never seen so much coke in my life. Litterally everyone had blow.
As far as the poker goes, I scrubbed out after and hour, but my buddy was up 120 when I left and 1 of the group of 3 chicks I had met at the bar was crushing everyone. Last time I saw her stack, she was up like 330. Overall, interesting night. Now I have to be get ready to deal blackjack for 6 hours.
Good weekend yall.

Connected for 8 the first swing, Second swing was soaked up by an archangel of thune, soulmender, and giant spider, her gained a life to trigger the thune's ability and soak up all of the damage, and then swinging as a 32/32 i got fogged. So I was able to attack as 64/64 for the win. I though it was funny that he didn't scoop before hand and truly thought he was gonna find a way to kill it, in green and
white. BTW I was playing around celestial flare by attacking with my elvish mystic when he had WW open and he did not have pacifism in his deck.

Went 6-0 in prerelease. My pool played into my preferred archetype anyway. In one pack I opened Serra Angel + Foil Serra Angel, with the rare being Fiendslayer Paladin. Needless to say I was balls deep into white within my first pack.
Second pack revealed a Ogre Battledriver. So GG, I was strapped into Boros at that point. I shored the deck up with a goat cannon (Trading Post and Barrage of Expendables,) as well as 4 [card]Chandra's Outrage[/card] and 3 Pacifism. It felt really unfair to win that hard.
