I will admit to a deep core love of jazz, but I don't even know what African strings is, lol. These guys are about the closest I come to any sort of tribal.

It's not a genre, it's a what I call a group of African stringed instruments that are responsible for the creation of the Banjo. Not sure if you'll like them but here's another list.

Molo
Kibangala (has different names in different countries, and is very similar to a lute. Some people think it might have been the earliest version of the lute)
Ramkie (basically a hand made guitar with an oil can body)

Some of these aren't necessarily third wave, but still amazing nonetheless.

I lay down a guitar track, pass it off to you, you track drums to it, pass it to pendulum who does some bass stuff, etc.

Pretty much, or just leave a track out in the open for others to mess
with. I'm on the work computer (the one running Millenium) but I'll see what I can do in the next coupla days.

i took off monday-thursday next week because i don't have a place to live and haven't been able to invest the time necessary to find a place to live, but cautioned at the time of filing this that the only reason i didn't file the time off for friday was because two other people in editorial were scheduled to be off before me.
today in the cycle of reporting what each person's schedule is next week, i raised the monday-thursday "vacation" and cautioned that i may need friday if i can't find an apartment in the 4-day window i'd already opened. i was met shortly after with "you didn't file for the day off and you have to file for the day off or we'll expect you in the office."

i've spent the past 15 minutes thumbing through a list of snarky responses to that while biting my tongue almost clean off.
