Kaze — Too soon. You're still dealing with what happened. Take the time to recover, and get the divorce over first. You need a clear head space before you begin anything new. If she just got out of a long-term thing, then why this sudden urgency from her? Something just doesn't feel right about this.

Chapin agrees with you, Z...here are his comments:I like those Boros decks though Cackler seems very unspealing in the first one.
"The red build has nicer two-drops but really struggles with one-drops. Here I'm not even playing the usual minimum eight, as the one-power guys all look so bad for this kind of a deck. I guess Legion Loyalist might be the one, but that is kind of a bummer.
One advantage of the red list is the use of so many more Mountains (and getting to make Boros Guildgate a lot less bad). I'm still not in love with mana like this, but it looks better than the white build for consistency."
He's referring to a mainly WW deck with the "white build" comment.

Crraaaaapppp With all these spoilers Im stuck with the decision of....boxes or singles. Shopping list of playsets of Purphoros, Stormbreath, Hammer and Magma Jet is already $200, and thats not counting Xenagos, chained to the rocks. AND the duals. Then thats $300-500
Boxes at 89-120, cases at 600-500.......
Think theres enough non Red based cards to get trade value?

If you're going to play the box/case game, make sure you flip everything on eBay during the week after release while prices are still high. Keep the ones you think are undervalued to sell after they peak. This is the riskiest option.
Or, buy the cards you think are undervalued and wait a month for prices to settle down on the hyped cards. This is the safe play if you don't mind waiting.
Or, buy the cards you need and play a lot of Magic to make your money back with winnings.

@Kaze, I've never been in a long term relationship, but I've found some strange after a breakup is usually a good thing so long as it's no strings.
@Z, RE Xethgaros in modern jund, I actually think garruk is better because garruks minus is relevant in lots of matchups, like the mirror where you can kill off a deathrite shaman or dark confidant. Jund doesn't really make use of the extra mana from xethgaros and while has is better then not haste, I don't think it's better then losing 1-4 other good abilities. Chandra on the other hand is actually secret Jund. Play Chandra Pyromaster in your Jund builds and you'll be happy you did.
For standard, the walker looks insane though. Some sort of aggressive dual deck probably exists and this guy should be very good in that deck. And fate, it's actually not as counterintuitive to run the monstrous triple stone rain guy in that type of list. The aggressive green decks with
elves aren't so much ramp decks are high velocity decks.
Consider this scenario: turn 4 wolfir silverheart, beat for 5. Assuming your opponent doesn't have it, you can actually just win the game with what's on board with your massive tempo lead and virtual card advantage.
Now consider this scenario: Turn three Xethgaros, beat for whatever(hasty guy from xero, plus bte and like, a firefist lets say with an elf on board). Turn 4, ember swallower, activate whatever ability, do things. Turn 5, + ability, tap some mana, win the game. You're opponent is now manascrewed and you have an elf and/or walker that makes mana along with a 7/8.

My ex tried spreading the same BS. I told everyone that hell yeah I beat her. If they didn't believe me, just look at that cow's face. God don't make faces that fucked up.So, I woke up to some vicious messages today. Apparently the wife has been telling everyone that I abused her, and that's why she left me.
Bah. v.v Fucking drama.
She soon quit telling people I beat her.

Also, throw in there that you only slapped her a few times so she'd quit trying to make you take a dump on her.
I promise she'll shut right the fuck up.

Also new Magma Jet art is pretty lame, I keep hearing it praised but it's not really any better than the FNM promo art.

Bitches be crazy. People will believe what they want. Sounds like she is turning people against you. You might consider legal action, as I believe what she is saying can be considered slander. So, I woke up to some vicious messages today. Fate, symmetric land D is best done when you're still able to cast things when your opponents can't. In a ramp/dork strategy, it should be fine until they start killing all your mana producers to get parity back. At which point, you're at an even playing field or you had an opportunity to drop some big bombs before them.

Thanks to NerdBoyWonder for the amazing sig!
Son, I want you to know that no matter what happens between your mother and me, it's all your fault.

We can all appreciate the difficulties of forum browsing from the phone.Didn't read the thread, it wouldn't load on my phone. ;( Had to post from the mod panel.
Kaze - it appears this crazy lady did you a favor when she left you. I'd be very frustrated at her spreading lies about me so I can imagine how you feel. I'm not a good person to give advice about this as I tend to take lies and innuendo spread about me very seriously.

Kaze, when people ask you if you abuse your wife, you look them in eye, whip your dick out, point to it and say, "anybody who has to take this all the way would feel abused afterwards, amiright?"
If they don't agree, just piss on them.
If they don't agree, just piss on them.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.

At first, I thought he was merely very good, then I thought of him as a bloodbraid elf that always cascades into a walker and now I think he may be an "eternal walker" as far as cross format playability goes in which case after the price drops down to something reasonable, he'd qualify as a good long term investment.So...we're all playing Gruul this season, right?
Right.
@Kaze while that's unfortunate, it's not the end of the world. If she's spreading lies, then you can just ignore them and let people see the truth by simply being the best you that you can be and that makes all of her heinous
accusations fall flat. You can't make people believe one thing over another, but you can affect their perception of you with how you cultivate your image and through your manner when interacting among them. I personally wouldn't talk about anything she's said unless asked directly in which case I would answer honestly and talk about how I'm "over it" so far as the bullshit talk at least(I imagine it's very hard to get over 4 years of relationship).
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

It's an incredibly convenient retort since your dick's already out anyway.Kaze, when people ask you if you abuse your wife, you look them in eye, whip your dick out, point to it and say, "anybody who has to take this all the way would feel abused afterwards, amiright?"
If they don't agree, just piss on them.
Be sure to finish with a degrading left-to-right dick slap too to teach them the error of trusting the word of a lying fickle bitch.

I made basically these exact same leaps of logic. I'll be buying 8 and seeing what happens. At first, I thought he was merely very good, then I thought of him as a bloodbraid elf that always cascades into a walker and now I think he may be an "eternal walker" as far as cross format playability goes in which case after the price drops down to something reasonable, he'd qualify as a good long term investment.

I mean, you can't just go around left-to-right dickslapping people for no good reason. It's bad form. But when it's justified, there's just no better feeling.

What is his preorder price at? Anything below $20 and I'd probably do the same.I made basically these exact same leaps of logic. I immediately drew the parallels to Bloodbraid Elf myself
when seeing this card. I don't see how this isn't playable in Modern.

Yeah, I'll wait for some boxes to be opened and that price to dip a little before I buy. I mean, Liliana is $40 now and she's the second-best planeswalker ever printed. I just don't see this guy being quite at that level.Bout $40.What is his preorder price at? Anything below $20 and I'd probably do the same.
