I wouldn't say brainstorm is necessarily 'overpowered', it's just that other colors lack the utility that blue offers
I do indeed feel that the format is rather diverse, even though nearly every deck does play brainstorm and friends
I wouldn't be upset if wizards decides to ban it at one point though, even though they probably won't

To be fair to O'Donnell, he's in the same top 4 with Reid Duke and Tom Ross and thus obviously did ok for himself.Devon O'Donnell plays in a lot of events around here. He's a really nice guy, though yeah, he's certainly not looking good here right now.Ross paired against the worst BUG delver player in the world. Up 2-0.
He certainly played horribly in the match, but that can largely be chalked up to matchup inexperience and/or nerves. It was horrible though.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.
Beatdown is hard, though.

Pretty much this. It isn't a cakewalk but you can play aggressive in both Modern and Legacy.I get to play with Goblin Guide.

Delver strategies are fun, though of course not "aggro." But you're typically the beatdown.Legacy Sucks because agro isn't viable.
There, I said it.
Is Merfolk still floating around somewhere on the fringes of playability in Legacy?

Thanks to NerdBoyWonder for the amazing sig!

They must hate fun.Which is funny because literally every person I've met who plays that deck hates playing it
To play affinity, you have to enjoy decision making, embrace constant high risk/reward situations as they present themselves to you, and be ok with playing against hate cards frequently.
A pattern with my deck selection is that I tend to play decks that are very hateable. The reason for this is that most people tend to not test there postboard matchups and think there hate cards win the game. Either that, or they don't test vs. competent pilots. Most of the time the hate is either very beatable, or can be played around(or both).
You should NOT play affinity if you're:
1) risk averse.
2) weak at math
3) hate to
mulligan.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.
Beatdown is hard, though.

Most just don't like dealing with the hate cards, I'd imagine the first time someone goes in dry with a stony silence or someone goes "EOT Pestermite, untap, splintertwin?" when your on affinity, you simply want to punch a wall

Nope. I was the most right about Eidolon of everyone.you mean you were wrong about eidolonThe format changed and I reconsidered my position on a few cards. Overall, some of the changes were good, some were whatever. You have to make some radical concessions to beat UW Control.

No.Any plans for a write up Z? Would love to hear your thoughts about the deck changes. I too have made my way to 4 eidolon in the SB however I am on two glares.
Was 8 4 mana spells an issue for you? I find myself really liking stoke, and have cut down on the WLH.
Congrats on 3rd, certainly a respectable finish, if only prize payouts supported it.

Players who enjoy playing blue or jund.and what kind of player is that?Legacy and Modern suck. They only cater to certain kinds of players.
People who enjoy playing combo or control.
People who enjoy playing rock vs paper with no scissors.

There isn't really a reason for aggro to be viable in legacy really; control and tempo have access to all the cheapest interaction and the ever-present threat if combo means that you can't play goldfish decks. The aggro decks that do exist play a more complete game plan and are successful within that space.
No one should want mono red commons to be competitive in eternal formats.

You realize that given Wizards largely designs set so combo ISN'T viable in standard, I guess every standard season since time spiral (ignoring post banning Zendikar-Scars) has been bad as well. No, I think it's a bad format when Aggro, Combo, control and midrange are not represented.
I think it's a bad format when you have to play a certain colour to be competitive.
I think it's a bad format when I am unable to find any decks I enjoy playing.
Thus, the only good format is edh

Keith....competitive Magic is most certainly not fair and interactive.Mono red commons is not the only thing I enjoy. I like playing fair and interactive games. No one should want mono red commons to be competitive in eternal formats.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.
