I grew up in New Bedford. Trust me, its the last place I ever wanted to go back to.fuck you tooUgh, have to catch a flight to Boston in a few hours to go visit with some family. The only good thing about being back in Massachusetts is that Voodoo Glow Skulls will be playing in Cambridge tomorrow night and I've got tickets.
Even so, ugh...Massholes.

Why is exiling Reckoner so important? He doesn't have any built in recursion or bonuses when dying like the other two.To everyone on PyroRed; I assume you we're running 2 Flames of the Firebrand? We could switch those to Annihilating Fire to help with the Devotion Red semi-mirror; and the card isn't horrific:
- kills x/3s instantly; there's a few relevant ones
- exiles Phoenix, Reckoner, Voice of Resurgence
- go upstairs for 3 at instant speed
The other alternatives are main decking Firefist Strikers to help get past Reckoner, or maybe Goblin Shortcutter if we think Firefist would be unreliable in this kind of deck; eg. -2 Flames, +2 Shortcutter; or -2 Flames, -1 Hammer, -1 Chandra; +4 FFS
I'd definitely keep the hammers main.
Against Reckoner Red I think I'd rather cut down on some number of Shock and Flames of the Firebrand for Goblin Shortcutters. I've been noticing that this deck doesn't commit to the field as much so an inefficient solution for reckoners is to ping them with Chandra's +1. If Pyromancer or Firedrinker is on the field, they'll die, but outside of that, you're generally golden. Multiple reckoners can be a pain though, but on the upside, if they attack with them, you can race them.

Craig wescoe on Purphorous:
I'm not surprised this one is the highest of the five gods. He is strong and will see play. I'm hesitant to Fork out $20 for him though. He is not ten times as good as his hammer, so if you feel big things about this guy, I'd recommend investing in 40 of his hammers instead of a play set of him, unless of course you just want to play with him. Then go crazy.

The nice thing about TCGPlayer articles as that there is very seldom some kind of hidden agenda. They let SCG do all of the propaganda work for them, so they can still do inflated preorder prices, but then once the set comes out they let their pros tell the truth about cards instead of continuing to try and sell them at overt prices.http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=11404
Just read the whole article, wescoe's fucking funny.
Also Craig Wescoe is one of my favorite currently active pro players. Dude is funny as shit.

What else are you looking for? I did acquire some new Red goodies and I am going to FNM tomorrow. The fools and their Red cards shall soon be parted.Anyways, big thanks to Khaos for the cards! All I need is a few more cards and my PyroRed deck will be ready.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.

He's responsible for helping my find my first love when I started playing somewhat competitive Magic: Mono White Landfall w/Stoneforge. I knew I was onto something big when I opened a Stoneforge Mystic and a foil Basilisk Collar in my very first Worldwake pack. A few weeks later, I saw his decktech for his "Jund-hoser list," and I truly felt that this guy knew exactly what I wanted to do, but he could do it better and faster than me. I used his list to analyze the weaknesses in my build, and in the process, I learned so much about metagaming than I ever have before.I love me some wescoe, though. Dude is the reason I played White Weenie all last season.
I actually alternated between Mono Red and Mono White for the whole
Shards/Zen block (and also Zen/Scars), and through following Wescoe, I discovered the Red Mage himself, Patrick Sullivan. Both of these players helped mold me into the early competitive Magic player I was back then. To this day, I'm still astounded by some of the thing they pull off, like Wescoe's PT win and P-Sully's commentating/deck bulding/amazingly informative decktechs, etc.
Needless to say, meeting Craig Wescoe and Patrick Sullivan at GP Miami was almost a dream come true. I rarely put people on a pedestal, but these men I owe a lot of respect and gratitude towards. They were extremely nice and just...real. Patrick Sullivan even signed my Red Mana Deck Box for me (which is where my current Standard deck has resided ever since). Gods bless Craig Wescoe for not actually trying to escape as I completely fanboy'd out on him. It was enough just to meet them, but more important for me, I was able to tell them, "Thank you, for what you have done for this game[
/i]."
Tl;Dr - I met Craig Wescoe and probably terrified him. But he was totally cool.

Dude! I was doing that too. SO much so, that the muscles in the back of my skull actually hurt.I did the same thing the first time I met John Finkel. He was like "I don't think I've ever met someone who grins so much." And I was like "Yeah I think my face might be stuck like this..."Tl;Dr - I met Craig Wescoe and probably terrified him. But he was totally cool.
That ever happen to you?
Anyways, Wescoe says to me, "Wow, you are really excited, aren't you?"
I was like, "Fuck yeah, man. If it weren't for you, I would'
ve found a foothold in competitive Magic to save my life!"
Also, he's waaaaaay shorter than you would actually think he is. I'm 5'4" and I felt like I towered over him. But whatevs, he may be short, but he'll kick anyone's ass in this Clan with a goddamn Steppe Lynx.

Funny enough, he's the only one (Finkel) I've ever really been starstruck by. I think it might be because a lot of the other pros I've met from across the table, and I am able to humanize them as opponents much easier. Like I have always been a HUGE Patrick Chapin fan, but the first time I ever met him was at GP Orlando, where he gave me my only day 1 loss. Turns out I couldn't beat Whipflare into Liliana of the Veil.Dude! I was doing that too. Just wanted to pop in and say Fate & Nuwen your B/r Aggro brew is solid and I am a fan. Was toying with various Rakdos Midrange decks (probably bad) but sleeved up your deck and after a few games against my brother piloting Esper control I'm sold.
Question though, my meta is normally midrange decks mixed with bad brews that skew midrange. What is the plan exactly pre and post board. I expect Smiters Reckoners and Stormbreath to run rampant around here. Pre board I'm assuming it is business as usual. Beat them as fast as you can. Game 2 board in removal to play a grindier game?

Put Desecration Demons in the board and pair them with spot removal. Midrange decks can't beat that.

Weird hearing fanboyism over a white mage.
