Also...I got so drunk last night. All I know is that I was found passed out in my recliner blasting Trivium. I don't remember anything after leaving an Applebees.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Actually just finished reading it redbro. Props on your damn fine day of magic.
I'm considering doing the 1 Mutavault plan as well, just because I'm paranoid or drawing two.
Oh yeah, and I got a Japanese Stormbreath, an extra Chandra, a playset of Foil Mogis, and any other red cards you folks could possibly need if anyone would like to trade me some Sacred Foundries.

Mutavault is the bee's knees, but there are times where drawing more than 1 in the early game can be bad. I think 2 is actually fine in YP$ builds because you can always play Peezy on turn 2 with a just a mountain and a mutavault.

You can, but you rarely do- I'll only play it without mana up against decks that have no way to interact with it. Mostly just want to hit Phoenix and Ashley on curve, always.

Yea I'm just paranoid. Temple coming in tapped caused me more problems than the 2 Vaults...part of the reason I punted those games against esper was that I couldn't play Ashley on turn 2 due to temple (which in no way means that temple is bad. Scrying is fucking delightful).

Oh man, the loot I got yesterday was sick:
Foil Command Tower, Promo Lighting Greaves, Foiled Grand Abolisher, Foiled and Autographed Duress, and Foiled Thundermaw Hellkite is what Kaalia got.
Modern Goblins got a playset of foiled Foundry Street Denizens, a promo Teetering Peaks and a foil Spikeshot Elder.
I got a playset of foil Mogis and Peak Eruptions, and also a foil Burning Earth and foil Japanese Hammer, for Standard.
Jaya got a foil Charmbreaker Devils.

I just posted my states results in the Devotion Red thread also. I read yours, Khaos - nicely done!
I was 4-2 heading into round 7 and was ranked 16. My breakers were probably good enough to make me the only X-2 in the top 8, but I punted the last game of round 7. Read all about raspy's stupid plays in the Devo Red thread.

I say we never archive this thread. Let's make it the biggest one on DTR.Remember when someone wanted to archive this thread at 300 pages?
Shame.

The Mono Black deck from the top 8 has got to be the best shell. That deck is great.
And Underworld Connections is SO much better than Read the Bones.

Well, I agree about that when you go into Black-focused deck. My thought was "burn handles most of the cards that are immune to black removal". Having maindeck Doom Blade-Mortars-Dreadbore gives you an answer to nearly everything.
And I believe in Exava. She's amazing in offense, can play defense. Good MTG card I'd say.

They can't really leverage their life against you and a lot of your cards get value against their 1-for-1 removal (YP, Phoenix).

Is it time for Electrickery?
It can win games against:
- Mono White (all their 1-drops have 1 toughness, Imposing Sovereign)
- Mono Blue (lots of their creatures have 1 toughness. it also nullfiies Master of Waves tokens)
- Mono Green-RG (kills dorks and Voyaging Satyr)
- kills Elspeth tokens
- Stomps YP tactics and sheningans.
If we'd have some space in SB for two of these - I think it could help in many matchups. Could be even maindeckable but here comes the non-flexxibility of a card.

I ran into (and through) a deck like that in a 2 man the other day too. I was so confused, it was pretty much a free win. The poor guy played a lifebane zombie (in game 2 mind you) and saw my hand full of burn and then i topdeck chandra and +1'd to kill the zombie, then he kept playing more lifebanes and just died.I kept playing against a bunch of Pack Rats and Underworld Connections in the 2-mans and wondering what they were trying to do. Either they weren't being piloted correctly or they were bricking on top decks, because I had no trouble with them.
I'd also consider putting electrickery in my paper SB if this master of waves deck gets popular at my LGS. Not sure about online yet, haven't been on in a few days

The only decks I've had trouble with (I'm on Boros, no Pyromancer) is the GW combat trix deck (Boon Satyr, Selesnya Charm, Unflinching Courage, Voice of Resurgence) and the Master of Waves deck before I put in Electrickery.
There was a super durdly hexproof deck that crushed me in an 8-man, not sure if that will catch on since he only had 12 creatures (Fleecemane, the hexproof Elf and the Witchstalker). He managed to draw all of them vs. me, even after I board wiped him with Mortars.
